A local 27B open-weights model running entirely offline on a single workstation accomplished what was assumed to need a frontier cloud model: it disassembled a commercial app, recovered a deliberately obscured cryptographic signing key through static analysis of arm64 binaries, self-corrected its first wrong reconstruction, and produced a working authentication bypass. The model never executed the target app — it worked purely through static analysis in Ghidra-style fashion, and even caught itself when its first reconstructed key didn't match the hash integrity check.

Kaspersky researchers identified a multi-stage Android malware family spreading through the legitimate OTA update mechanism of DoFun car head units. The TWCore system app (responsible for analytics and updates) is abused to silently push a dropper that spawns an ad-fraud and proxy-botnet payload. This is the first documented case of an Android head unit infection chain. Attributed with high confidence to the MoYu Group behind the BADBOX botnet. DoFun has since fixed the reported vulnerabilities.
